Recreation Coordinator Permanent Full time Chawathil First Nation supports the provision of sport, physical activity and recreational opportunities to Chawathil children, youth, elders and adults. This position will include but not limited to the following: Development, coordination and implementation of sports and recreational activities for children, youth and young adults of Chawathil. Expected to have a flexible work schedule for some evenings and weekend work. Qualifications/ Requirements: Must have minimum grade 12 Dogwood or GED certificate. Experience working with children and youth. Must have the ability to network, maintain working relationships with outside resources, neighbouring bands and other organizations. Must be self-motivated and have excellent supervisory skills. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, showing initiative and flexibility. First Aid and Food Safe training/certificates. Familiarity and understanding of Sto:lo Culture, traditions and history. Must have experience in developing organizing and implementing youth-based activities and fundraisers. Experience in working with groups and ability to deal with conflict resolution. Excellent verbal, written and listening skills to accurately prepare and submit activity reports. Computer literate with knowledge of MS word, excel, and publisher. Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver&rsquos License. A recent driver&rsquos abstract must be submitted. Class 4 (unrestricted) drivers&rsquo license is an asset. Must successfully pass the required preemployment RCMP Criminal Record Check. Type of Position: Full time, subject to 3 &ndash 5 months&rsquo probation and performance review.
