Shelter: BC SPCA - Surrey Education & Adoption Centre Animal ID: 532121 Birthdate: January 01, 1970 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Unknown Female Greta is a tough cookie who is wise in her years. She lives next door to a group of 4 pigs who came from the same property. Her previous owner rehomed her friend and she wasn't getting along with the rest of the group so she has been housed separately but does chat with the other pigs through the fence and may be able to be introduced to living with the group. She was quite depressed to have lost her friend, but has since perked up and is learning to trust and love people as well and enjoys treats and clicker training. We are looking to adopt Timbit (ID#503243), Mama (ID#503241), Inky (ID#503242) and Charles (ID#503245) out together. Greta could be adopted with them as well, but would need to have her own space and then possibly slowly introduced in a big space to the others. Greta should go to a home with another pig, but be able to be kept separately, and then potentially together with another pig. She just needs the right fit. Greta needs an experienced guardian who can slowly gain her trust. Greta is up to date on mite treatments and hoof trims. If you are interested in giving Greta or any of these pigs a home, please fill out an adoption application at: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/equine-farm-animal-adoption-application-form/ Please ensure that your municipality allows you to have pigs and that you have appropriate indoor and outdoor space and fencing for pigs. These pigs are very clean and currently live in a stall with outdoor access during the day. They prefer to do their business outside, but overnight they have a "litterbox" area of shavings away from their straw nest where they go when nature calls. If you have any questions, you can contact us at: rescues@spca.bc.ca
