Trio of Emden Geese. Friendly and hand raised. Strongly bonded and cannot be separated. Raised with kids, ducks and sheep so suitable as pets. Not a cuddly animal but very social and will eat from your hand. Experience with geese strongly preferred. Ideal for larger acreage with a pond. Grazers by nature they need grass for 80% of their diet. Whole grains can be supplemented in winter and in dry seasons. They can be loud when alarming so best suited in rural settings. The genetics are from Metzer in the USA. Gander and leader is named "Big Goose" who is a gentle 4 year old male who was hand raised and is the strong silent type. Mrs. Goose is 4 years also and one younger, 3 year old, female Hilda makes the trio. Mrs. Goose raises a full brood of successful goslings each year and Hilda had her first brood last year. These geese are calm, good protectors of goslings, ducks and others of the flock and great alerts to predators especially eagles.
