Bartender (Part-Time, Evenings) — Downtown Nanaimo Venue

Location: Downtown Nanaimo, BC Compensation: $23/hour + tips Hours: Thursday to Saturday — 9:00 PM to 1:30 AM (support role) Sunday — 7:30 PM to 2:30 AM (solo shift) Employment Type: Part-Time (with opportunity for additional solo shifts in the future) --- About the Role We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Bartender to join our downtown Nanaimo team. This position starts as bar support on busy nights and includes a solo Sunday shift, with the potential for more independent shifts as operations expand. The ideal candidate is professional, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced nightlife environment. You’ll work closely with the lead bartender to ensure guests have an exceptional experience from start to finish. --- Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Support the lead bartender on peak nights (Thu–Sat) Manage solo shifts independently (Sun) Maintain bar cleanliness and restock supplies Handle POS transactions and cash accurately Ensure compliance with responsible service standards --- Qualifications Serving It Right certification (required) 2+ years bartending or bar support experience required Strong multitasking and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Comfortable working late nights and weekends --- What We Offer $23/hour + nightly tips A friendly, team-oriented environment Consistent weekend hours Opportunity for growth and additional solo shifts
