Like a typical Alaskan Malamute, Tommy is energetic, smart and hard working. He is eager to learn and is always alert and ready to explore. At only 10 months old Tommy is familiar with all his basic commands and has been great when walking. Due to his breed and age, Tommy is easily overstimulated and will sometimes show you his frustration by jumping up and being mouthy. Our staff are working hard to teach Tommy good coping skills using positive reinforcement but his new family will need the patience and structure to continue his training. Due to this behaviour, he is not suited for a home with young children. Alaskan Malamute's can be a wonderful breed to own but they do demand a lot so a breed experienced home is a must for Tommy. Tommy would be an excellent match for anyone that likes to hike, bike, swim and be active! Tommy could potentially live with another well matched dog.
