Principal Software developer

Fintech Innovation Canada Inc. is looking for a Principal Software developer (NOC 2174) Vancouver, BC Summary: Principal Software developers in our company are responsible for writing, modifying, integrating and testing computer code; leading and coordinating teams of software developers; researching and evaluating a variety of software products, solutions, and technologies. The job location is: Metro Vancouver area, 400-319 W. Hastings St., Vancouver, BC V6B 1H6. Main duties and responsibilities: ● Develop, integrate, modify and test computer code, being developed and supported by our company; ● Support, maintain, implement and modify existing software by testing programs and making changes as needed; ● Develop, enhance, implement, and support development tools and technologies as well as all other components of company's software programs; ● Identify, debug and resolve different technical problems related to platform specific code, or system level issues; ● Research and evaluate a variety of software products, solutions, and technologies. ● Select and systemize information for the inclusion and design of the appearance, layout and flow of the applications and tools; ● Lead and coordinate teams of computer programmers; ● Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of development tools and technologies, being developed and supported by our company. ● Closely collaborate with the open-source communities, contribute public patches and report issues. Requirements for the position: ● Experience: at least 5 years as a Software developer; ● Expert knowledge of C/C++, and different versions of C and C++ standards; ● Experience in overall design of compilers, development tools, code generation and optimization, code security, instrumentation, and debug information; ● In-depth understanding of multithreading, object-oriented analysis and design; ● Proficient in version control systems, bug tracking and build systems; ● Education: 2-3 years of college program or bachelor's degree; master’s degree would be an asset; ● Language: good English, excellent written and verbal communications skills.
