We are offering a permanent, full-time position in our Vancouver office located at: 595 Burrard St #16-135, Vancouver, BC V7X 1L4 Company’s business address: #577 – 1231 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6Z 0E2 Type of position: Full time, permanent, 40 hours/week Salary: $27.50 per hour Benefits: (after 3 months of employment) extended health care benefits including prescription drugs, dental, vision, life insurance; (after 12 months of employment) GRSP As a Project Administration Officer your responsibilities will include: • Manage and co-ordinate localization projects from start to finish; • Implement the localization strategy, ensure administrative procedures are followed; establish, implement and evaluate new procedures; • Establish project priorities and identify the internal and external resources required to complete the project successfully; delegate work to support staff; • Create and control localization project budgets, track and control costs, ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and invoices, and approve work reports; • Analyze client’s specific requirements, create and manage internal versions of localization project plans; • Develop localization project plans and workflows, managing time, budget, resources and quality control; • Assess project risks, develop and execute mitigation plans as needed; • Co-ordinate activities and tasks among language specialists, localization engineers, terminologists, product management and development team, internal business partners and external vendors and other departments; • Ensure deliveries meet deadlines, are on budget, and meet release quality criteria; • Manage quality issues raised by either the client or team members and work to resolve quality issues via a quality control process; • Collect and assemble data to prepare and present regular reports to clients and management on project progress, escalating issues and evaluating needed support; • Identify cost-savings and continuous improvement initiatives and submit to upper management; • Apply the client localization strategy to all project workflows and ensure localization processes are followed including creation of client specific localization processes; • Lead project/client/business partner office meetings and conference calls; • Advise the client in best practice to deliver the project in line with the client’s localization strategy; • Manage all client requirements: project scope, communication – written and verbal, budget, workflow and status updates. Job requirements: • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in aspects of non-technical project management, ideally with a focus on project localization; • Completion of secondary school is required; college diploma or university degree in business administration or related discipline is preferred; • Excellent English for written and verbal communication. Asset qualifications: • Advanced Office 365 skills; • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written; • Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage ambiguity, and work under pressure; • Ability to monitor and prioritize multiple streams of communication; • A great multitasker with a keen attention to detail; • Formal education in translation, linguistics or related discipline; • Knowledge of a second language (not English) is preferred; • Strong preference given to candidates with client-facing experience; • Previous experience in managing localization of various collateral: websites, software, eLearning, subtitles, InDesign; • Previous experience using issue tracking systems, such as Jira and Redmine.
