Tuppy (play Aggression Serious Applicantsonly) - Ragdoll Cat

Shelter: BC SPCA - Burnaby Branch Animal ID: 515520 Birthdate: February 01, 2020 - Young Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Tuppy is not your typical cat and needs a very specific home. Tuppy has play aggression combined with fear aggression so can only go to a home that has a lot of cat experience and understanding of cat behaviour. His adopter will need to be comfortable with continuing to work on his behaviour and continuing his medication and working with a vet around his medication. Tuppy cannot go to a small space, he will require a fairly large home to keep him happy and ideally would have safe outside access such as a catio. Tuppy will require appropriate play sessions daily. Things such as cat agility training and other activities for him to direct his aggression towards. His adopter will need to understand that hands are a target for Tuppy and as such he is not ready for petting at this time and may never be a cat that you can pet normally. He can also inappropriately grab at ankles and hold on with his claws. These kinds of displays must trigger stopping all interactions and waiting for him to settle down or use of time outs by exiting the room. We know Tuppy is super adorable but we are looking for someone that sees beyond his appearance and is up for the task. As the home we are seeking for Tuppy is very specific we will only be contacting applicants that may be suitable.
