Jane - Budgie Bird - Exotic

Shelter: BC SPCA - Richmond Animal ID: 494222 Birthdate: November 08, 2018 - Juvenile Spayed/Neutered: No Female Jane and Pepper were found separately outside and were obviously quite lost as Budgies are pets and not wild. Jane and Pepper are young, but weren't overly handled so they can be timid with new people. They are a bit fearful of hands coming into their space and will need a patient family if they are to become hand tamed. Jane and Pepper are quite talkative little birds and love to sing their songs in the morning when they wake up. Budgie Care: Ideally budgies are fed a pellet diet (opposed to seeds that aren't fully balanced). Most budgies need to be transitioned to pellets from seeds. Budgies should get extra calcium via supplements. Fresh water should be available at all times. Budgies should be covered with a light sheet for 12 hours per day to establish normal sleep-wake cycles. Cages should be fully cleaned as needed with water and vinegar solution wiping down the perches, bars and bottom of cage. Paper should be changed daily.
