Barbara (47) - Domestic Short Hair Cat

Barbara is a bit of a complicated character, looking for a specific home. She came to us from a hoarding situation severely under socialized. Staff has been working with her religiously to get her used to humans, she is at a place where she is comfortable around the people she is used to, but is not interested in any pats and affection yet. What Barb is looking for in a home... A quiet, adult only home. A person or pair of persons who are patient with her, and work with her daily to gain confidence. People that understand Barbara does not want to be touched, and may never enjoy it. And lastly, since she came from a place surrounded by other kitties, we think she could do well in a home (with a proper slow introduction) with an outgoing cat who gets along with other cats! Barbara has a lot of potential, in the right setting we think she could come a lot further out of her shell than she has here at the shelter.
