Job Duties Provide attentive care for three young children, including one child diagnosed with severe autism Support and engage the child with autism through structured routines, calm communication, and sensory-friendly activities Assist with the care of two other children and a newborn (expected) as needed Prepare and serve nutritious meals while respecting the family’s Muslim dietary practices (Halal) Maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive household environment aligned with Islamic family values Assist children with personal hygiene, daily routines, and social development Organize age-appropriate activities including play, learning, and outdoor time Light housekeeping and laundry related to child care Accompany children to appointments, school, or community activities if required Requirements Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of full-time child care experience (experience with children with special needs, particularly autism, is strongly preferred) Patience, empathy, and ability to provide structured caregiving Must be able to communicate in English (French if required by province) Preference will be given to candidates who can also speak Hindku and/or Urdu for easier communication with children and family Knowledge of or willingness to adapt to Muslim household values and practices (e.g., halal food preparation, respect for religious customs) First Aid/CPR certification (asset, not mandatory) Additional Information Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis.
