Seeking a Home/Community Support Worker to join our team in Duncan

We are seeking a part time support worker (18-21 hours per week) to join a circle of support workers, family and friends who share in supporting a fantastic Deaf adult with additional disabilities who resides in Duncan. This is a job for you if you enjoy providing individualized supports adapted to the person's learning, communication and mobility differences so that they can be as independent as possible in accomplishing errands, getting to appointments, going shopping, and keeping their home organized and clean. This is a job for you if you also enjoy giving care by preparing meals, washing dishes, housecleaning, lifting a walker in and out of your car, and driving to appointments. Start Date and Hours: We are seeking a new part-time support worker who can begin June 1, 2025 and who is available 3 mornings per week (Monday, Thursday and Friday), 3 afternoons per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) plus one Sunday afternoon per month. (We may consider hiring two part time support workers 9 to 12 hours each). Payment: The rate of pay is $18 to $23 per hour depending on your qualifications, ASL fluency and experience supporting adults at home and in the community. You will be reimbursed for the km you drive while the client is in your vehicle. Applicants must have a clear criminal record check, a reliable vehicle, a safe driving record and the ability to lift a walker in and out of their vehicle. Applicants must be willing to put additional unpaid time and effort into upgrading their American Sign Language skills. We will cover the costs of ASL courses, tutoring and coaching.
