Shelter: BC SPCA - West Vancouver Branch Animal ID: 521121 Birthdate: November 30, 2016 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Samwise is looking for his Frodo to take his next adventure with. Sam came in not as his best, but he is feeling much better and has lots of stories to tell of his previous life. This boy is B-I-G big and is not shy about taking up space, his favourite activity is laying exactly where you want to walk. Sam has lived with other dogs, and does well sharing space - but not food or toys. Sam would love to have some dog friends to go for walks and play with, but would prefer to live just with humans. Sam needs to have an adult only home, and would do best with folks who can read dog body language well. Sam will require regular grooming to keep his coat looking good, but at this time is still learning how to be comfortable with being brushed. Peanut butter on lick mats has created a great FearFree way to help desensitize him with grooming - but he will need continued work to be tangle free! Sam doesn't ask for too much, he loves to take his time on walks and smell all the smells - he does not enjoy the hurried pace of an active walker and would prefer to saunter along. Sam has an ongoing salivary gland blockage that will need monitoring, and occasional drainage through the vet. Sam recently had a dental surgery with multiple extractions, and is happy to report a pain free mouth! This goofy guy has warmed the hearts of staff and volunteers, and is ready to move forward on his next journey. ***Due to COVID-19 We've made changes to our adoption process.*** To adopt: 1.
