This key role will be responsible for testing, commissioning, system analysis and maintenance on electrical equipment at power generation and main substations across BC. Some weekend, on-call, and travel within BC may be required. Requirements: High voltage electrical field service experience required. Electrical technology/engineering program completion Red Seal or Journeyperson Electrical Trade certification is an asset. Solid technical foundation in career progression. Experience in Protection and Control systems Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and clean abstract required. Class 1 license is an asset. A++ people skills Understanding of Gas in Oil Analysis and the processing of transformer oil. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Solid mechanical aptitude. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Duties and Responsibilities: Working on high, medium, and low voltage power apparatus. Maintenance, commissioning and testing of high voltage electrical equipment Operate various types of electrical test equipment such as Doble Power Factor, Insulation & Winding Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Fall of Potential, Breaker Timing, AC / DC High-pot, VLF and Response Analysis (SFRA). Substation protection and control. Other duties as required.
