Our client specializes in HVAC, refrigeration, and building control equipment systems, providing preventive maintenance and ongoing support for their construction clients. Our client is expanding quickly, so this is a new role that the right person can build from the ground up. This role will be 50/50 in the office and in the field, performing inspections, training staff, handling claims, with the goal of making the company COR certified. Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including life insurance, AD&D, extended health, vision, and dental. Shifts: 8.00 am to 4.30 pm. Requirements: A recognized post-secondary education in Health and Safety and Environmental field or equivalent experience is required. Minimum three to five years of proven working experience in the HSE field within the construction environment, union and non-union. A driver’s license and a vehicle are required. Previous experience with Workers Comp claims and knowledge of COR Certification process. Attention to detail and proven facilitation and persuasion skills. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with ISN, Comply works, and/or Avetta an asset. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform site inspections as required. Update and implement appropriate paperwork for compliance and keep updated records Perform new hire safety orientations as required. Coordinate scheduling of job-specific training and maintain training records. Monitor corrective actions as a result of site inspections, investigations or compliance requirements. Intervene in unsafe activities or operations and recommend action to correct unsafe conditions and performance. Support management and operations personnel in incident investigations and reporting.
