Daycare Worker Assistant

A licensed child care After School Warriors is looking for a Daycare Worker Assistant to join our awesome team. Position: Permanent, Full-time, Shifts Wage: $19.00 hourly Our requirements: • Completion of secondary school; • 1-2 year of experience in child care; • Completion of post-secondary courses in ECE is not required but would be considered an asset; • Good command of English; • Criminal record check. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing support for the childcare teacher; • Monitoring the children constantly; • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms for lunch and rest periods; • Observing children for and assessing their abilities, interests, needs and struggles and discussing them with the childcare teacher or supervisor; • Assisting in planning and organizing activities for school-aged children that promote physical, mental, emotional development as well as social skills; • Engaging children in activities including telling stories, making crafts, indoor and outdoor games, drawing, etc.; • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children; • Maintaining a safe and positive environment to promote the health, security and well-being of the children; • Maintaining the daycare equipment in good working condition and assisting in housekeeping.
