Shelter: BC SPCA - Vancouver Branch Animal ID: 545822 Birthdate: March 28, 2010 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Female Are you looking to open your home to a sweet old pup in need? Meet Alaska! Alaska is a 12-year-old Husky who has lived a pretty hard life, and is now looking forward to a very comfortable retirement. Alaska is a quiet, gentle soul who is happy to curl up with you for a nice long nap. Alaska was brought into our care after being rushed to the vet with a severe infection on one side of her face. While having her wounds cleaned and dried every day can't be comfortable, she has been a stellar patient and is always happy to sit still for a few treats. She would be an ideal companion for someone who works from home or who is able to take a dog to work. She loves to have her belly rubbed, and she shows her gratitude with the gentlest kisses in the world. Alaska's forever home will need to be calm, quiet, and conscious of the needs of a senior dog. She does best with a consistent routine where she can feel safe. Her favourite things are to take leisurely walks; sniff all the trees and bushes, go for car rides, meet new dog friends who share her calm nature and just be with her people as much as possible. She is looking forward to having a nice sunny spot for naps, and promises to spend the rest of her days filling your life with love. -From Alaska's Foster Parent: Alaska is the most wonderfully funny, sweet, smart, gentle soul! She is a pleasure to have in our home. Watching her blossom has been a gift, as is her resilience and patience with her medical needs. She would be a beautiful addition to anyone looking for gentle companion. If you have been searching for Alaska, submit an application on the BCSPCA website today! __________________________________ Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed.
