Shelter: BC SPCA - Vancouver Animal ID: 489668 Birthdate: March 17, 2019 - Kitten Spayed/Neutered: Yes Female Little Roxie is a Roxie after your heart. This beautiful young tabby was rescued from a feral colony as a kitten scared and suffering from a virus that made her eyes inflamed and painful. She's spent some time in a foster home to help her become socialized to people and get healthier with love and vet care. She's now back at the shelter and ready to go to her new fur-ever home. She can be a very sweet girl who purrs like crazy when you talk to or pet her. She can still be quite nervous and timid at times though and will need someone willing to work with her on continued socializing and helping her get comfortable in a new environment. She may want to hide in the beginning and will need to learn to trust her new family. Once she finds her brave side she will surely be a wonderful companion to that special someone. A home without very small children would probably be best. Like any kitten Roxie is very playful and curious so lots of toys, scratching posts, and things to keep her entertained is important. It's recommended that she be an indoor only cat since she carries the herpes virus which may potentially be with her for life. She would likely do well in a home with other animals with proper introductions. The virus she carries can be possibly passed to other cats so any other cat in her home would need to be healthy and up to date on vaccines. A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
