Wholesale Buyer

Located in British Columbia Kwong Fung Food operates on a business to business model, supplying Asian imported food to restaurants and supermarkets throughout BC. We have established our brand image as quality and freshness by carefully selecting suppliers from Canada, USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, Thailand, and other popular exporting destinations. After 11 years of operation, we now have a network of reliable suppliers who we maintain good relationships with. In the meantime, we have developed an effective and strict protocol of storing imported food, which enables us to preserve the quality of the imported products. We understand the importance of customer service and the value of having good employees. Wholesale Buyer Duties and Tasks: Purchase items such as packaged Asian food, frozen food, sauces and food ingredients from Asia, USA and local suppliers; Create the order list and report to the purchasing officer; Monitor price change for items and discuss purchase terms, shipping methods and other purchase terms with suppliers; Work closely with the warehouse and sales team everyday to monitor the inventory level for each product and determine the quantity of orders; Confirm the purchase with the manager before order is placed; Check the items, quality and quantity of ordered products once received Qualification Requirements: College diploma or University degree is required; Minimum 6 months of purchasing/buyer experience is required. For secondary school graduates, you must prove 2 years buyer experience in retail or wholesale setting (Buyer experience is preferred); 3. Must be able to speak, read and write in English 4. Should be able to work flexible hours in order to work with suppliers in other time zone ocassionally.
