Lucy *in Foster - Siamese Cat

Shelter: BC SPCA - Surrey
Animal ID: 355023
Birthdate: June 30, 2014 - Young Adult
Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Lucy is a friendly and affectionate cat to those she knows and trusts. When she is placed in an unknown environment that she views as unsafe, she becomes skittish, fearful, and will hide. If she settles in then her once perfectly safe environment becomes unsafe because of changes (i.e. new noises, new things that look funny to her) she can go back to being skittish. Lucy is in a foster home with two people right now where she loves the attention of her human foster family. Unfortunately, she does not enjoy dogs or other cats in the foster home. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Lucy has become used to sleeping with a human at night. She is playful but not extremely so. She is inquisitive and curious once she feels safe. Her greatest joy appears to be getting her human to give her lots of love through pets. She will purr up a storm in appreciation for this. Because Lucy has that skittish side to her personality, we are looking for a quiet, calm human companion that will allow Lucy time to adjust to a new home and will take it at Lucy's pace. In so many ways, Lucy is an ideal cat companion. She enjoys being around her foster humans. She loves attention but is not pushy about it, although she can be a bit obsessive about licking your fingers. She is not a fussy eater nor is she fussy about her litter box. She is not overly noisy but communicates through little meows. If you are interested in adding Lucy to your home, please contact the shelter to set an appointment at 604-574-1711 ext 5 (please leave a message if we don't answer - we promise to call you back)
