Juliet - Poodle Standard Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - Burnaby Animal ID: 464906 Birthdate: June 30, 2016 - Young Adult Spayed/Neutered: No Female Meet Juliet! She is a funny and beautiful girl. Juliet is very nervous and fearful of all new things, people, and places. She came to us under socialized and the only thing that she knew was her best friend Romeo. She absolutely loves Romeo and is very dependent on her. Juliet has been working on getting to know the staff at the shelter slowly but with positive outcomes. She really likes to play and follow you around the yard but has a hard time approaching people upfront. We have been working hard to get her to take treats and pets from new people. She still gets nervous when you pet her but she is slowly learning that it is not negative. She is very treat motivated. Juliet would be able to go to a home with another dog with proper introduction. She can not go to a home that has children because she frightens very easily. Juliet requires an owner that is very patient, calm, and consistent. She will require positive reinforcement and sportive training to help her reach her potential. Juliet is a wonderful dog and needs the best person to help her reach the true potential she has. S/he needs to be introduced to people and new situations slowly. S/he needs a more quiet environment and gentle handling. This dog is nervous around other dogs. S/he should be introduced slowly to dogs and rewarded for relaxed behaviour and play.
