Job Coach

We are seeking Independent Job Coach Contractors in the Greater Vancouver Area to provide specialized job-site training and support at various business locations to new hires with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Job Coaches provide services on an "as needed" basis. Ideal candidates will have Job Coaching or related experience, or a relevant background in a discipline such as Vocational or Occupational Therapy; Social Work; Teaching; Human Resources; Coaching; or similar training/support experience. Familiarity with customized employment models is ideal and a belief that everyone can work is a must! The Job Coach works with the new employee and the employer to ensure success and retention of the new job. Typical Job Coach Duties include: * Performing a detailed step-by-step task analyses of job functions to use as a teaching tool to promote learning and independent task performance; * Using appropriate teaching methods, strategies, and aids to accommodate specific learning styles; * Identifying/arranging job-site Accommodations/adaptations to best support employment success; * Providing support, information, and creative solutions to employee and employer to ensure job retention; * Identifying and engaging natural supports (i.e., coworkers) in the work environment that promote the new employee's full transition to independence on the job; and, * Engaging with the individual's support system if needed/possible in order to facilitate long-term job retention Required Experience and Certifications: * One year's experience working with persons with disabilities in a vocational setting preferred * Post-secondary diploma or certificate in related area completed or in progress (e.g., disability management, job development, occupational therapy, etc.) preferred * Valid Driver's License or ability to effectively commute around Vancouver * Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal background check and must provide a clearance letter to confirm registration for liability insurance Apply via email Subject: Job Coach 2018
