Position: Early Childhood Educator Working duration: indeterminate Working hours: 35hrs per week Working location: 7146 Nesters Road, Whistler, BC, V0N 1B7 Employer: Whistler Children's Centre Society Wage & Benefit: - $18.00 to $20.00 per hour (depends on work experience and qualification) - 4-day work week (35 ~40 hours total under an averaging agreement) - Vacation Accrual - 4% to start, increasing to 5% at one year anniversary - 8 paid days off to attend to physical and mental well being per year (maximum of 3 in the first three months and 8 total after probation period) - 10 paid Statutory Holidays/year Qualifications: - Early Childhood Educator License to Practice required from the ECE BC Registry - Infant Toddler qualifications are an asset. - Completion of college/CEGEP or vocational is required. - Current First Aid certificate and Criminal Record Check required. - Experience working in a child care more than 1 year is preferred Duties: - Plan and develop programs and activities suitable for children at an age between 1- 5 year old. - Design and develop learning programs to meet children's physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs. - Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children's development needs and learning progress. - Maintain and update individual record of children handled taking note of the program's positive and negative results. - Develop listening, comprehension and motor skills using approved subjects in storytelling, role playing, games, music and creative art activities. - Supervise both indoor and outdoor play times including community trips. - Release children only to those authorized by parent / guardian, to ask for identification in order to ensure that the authorized pick-up has been verified.
