Community Service Worker

The Individualized Funding Resource Centre (IFRC) Society was developed to help people succeed on the Choices in Support for Independent Living (CSIL) Program and other individualized funding programs in British Columbia. We are currently seeking for "Community Service Worker" to join our team. Title: Community Service Worker Status and working hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 30~40 hours per week Wage: $22.00/hr and 4% of gross pay for vacation fee Primary Work location: 1200 W 73rd Ave Vancouver, BC V6P 6G5 and Great Vancouver area Started Date: As Soon As possible Requirements/Qualifications: -College Diploma or University Degree in social work, psychology or health-related field -Valid previous work experience in a social service environment may replace formal education requirement -Certificates in First Aid+ CPR -Criminal Record Clearance -A positive and pleasant work attitude, effective communication skills -Understanding of providing service to people with different learning abilities -Must be physically able to carry out duties of the position -Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English Job Description: -Collect information about the clients' background -Assess clients' relevant skill strengths and needs -Assess and investigate eligibility for social benefits -Meet clients and review progress, give support and discuss any difficulties or problems -Providing Emotional Support and teaching life skills to clients -Assist in maintaining a safe environment for clients and the team -Observe and monitor clients' health, progress, and behavioral changes and report significant observations -May supervise other staff and volunteers -Participate in the selection and admission of clients to appropriate programs If you meet all of the requirements, please send your cover letter and resume by e-mail swimandsail47@gmail.com We wish to thank all candidates but only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
