School District No. 38 Richmond Building Service Worker Training Course The Richmond School District is offering a Building Service Working training course for applicants who currently do not hold a Building Service Workers' Certificate, which will provide successful candidates with the working knowledge to qualify as a casual (on-call) Building Service Worker with the Richmond School District. Successful applicants accepted into the training program will have: * Grade 10 or equivalent education and; * Some relevant cleaning experience Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to work at a variety of the district's schools and facilities on a casual basis. The work involves performing routine cleaning duties in a designated area of responsibility. Substitute building service workers at the District provide coverage for short-term leaves and provide additional support during special projects. The course will run over a period of 7 days and trainees will be paid a training wage of $15.00/hr. This training course is Richmond specific and may not be recognized elsewhere. The rate of pay as a Substitute BSW, upon successful completion of the training program, is $23.68, which includes 4% vacation pay.
