$125 · S.S. Camosun ship Vancouver BC souvenir life preserver.
This is a rare souvenir life preserver of the S.S. Camosun. Built in 1943 in England, she was named HMS Sandgate Castle, a corvette later purchased by Union Steamships Co in 1945. In 1958 she was renamed Chilcotin II, then Yukon Star. In 1974 she was scrapped in Seattle. The artist was famous marine painter Jack Hardcastle (1884-1973) of Nanaimo. The item is 5.5 inches across.
