The Companion Care Assistant Certificate (CCA) course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to develop the knowledge, abilities and professional attitude necessary to function effectively in a support role. Under the direction and supervision of clients, families, supervisors and/or other members of the interprofessional service team, CCAs provide person-centered support and assistance aimed at promoting and maintaining client independence. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to work in a variety of settings including private homes, residential care, group homes, 55 plus communities, respite care facilities, and independent living facilities.
This 100 hour (3 week) program is comprised of theory and hands-on lab practice. Students will learn new skills that will make any resume stand out.
Offered monthly, starting in February 2017.
