Great Canadian Casinos is recruiting qualified individuals for part and full time Commis Chef positions. This position is available at our Boulevard Casino in Coquitlam. The Commis Chef is responsible for all production and mis en place work as well as to serve customers in a courteous and helpful manner. Specific responsibilities include:
Execute all production and prep work in a timely manner
Must assist Demi Chef in preparing their daily mis en place requirements
Must keep their individual production areas clean and sanitary as they go at all times
Must do all mis en place in a timely manner
Maintain hygiene standards within guidelines that all food items are properly covered at all items
Ensure proper stock rotation in all areas of the kitchen and minimize wastage
Do month end inventory of individual areas with Chef de Partie
Must always be well groomed and in proper uniform with chefs hat
Execute all mis en place for banquet functions in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction
Clean and sanitizes all kitchen equipment after every use
Must follow proper safety procedures when using all kitchen equipment
Any other duties as assigned by the Head Chef / Sous Chef/Executive Sous Chef
Check that all cook and hold temperatures are maintained and recorded in log book
Receive all requisitions from store, freezer, and cooler, break it down and put away in an appropriate manner
Any other duties as requested from time to time that are relevant to the kitchen.
Successful Candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:
Fluent English
Other languages an asset
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
FoodSafe certification
Minimum 2 to 3 years Prep experience
