The so-called mechanics and manufacturers would let you believe that electric cars, electric bikes, electric scooters, e-motorcycles, and electric trucks don't require much, if any, maintenance. They say that EV's are maintenance-free. Like bikes, almost.
Is that true? If this is really true, the 500+ EV's ("electric vehicles") in the province of British Columbia would not be rusting away. The last BC statistics that I know of reveal that less than 15 electric cars are registered and insured in BC. So, what happened to the rest? Why are they rusting away under trees and in barns and garages?
About 100 years ago, most cars were electric. The mechanics of those days knew about the maintenance requirements of electric vehicles. However, most of the old-timers' knowledge has been lost, except for a few people like us. Jay Leno's 100 year old electric cars still run.
There are several major reasons. These include an obscure problem --- the lack of regular maintenance which is akin to an oil change to a gasoline-burning vehicle.
